Greenland

Always on the lookout for other nations asserting their sovereign rights, I note that Greenland is looking for more autonomy from Denmark. Pardon the pun, but it seems that things are heating up on the political scene in Greenland.

It seems that the Greenland's Prime Minister is set on having a referendum in November to press for more powers from Denmark. All going well for the Greenlanders, those powers could be implemented by June 2009, allowing them to celebrate more control over oil & mineral reserves as well as potentially more political powers.

Perhaps the Lab/ Lib Dem/ Tory waste-of-money-Commission might look at the expedited process in Greenland, forget about their commission and join in the conversation that has already started.

I'm quite happy - indeed, eager - to engage in debate with others when the topic provides opportunity to do so. I like knowing who I'm debating with and I'm fed up with some abusive anonymous comments so I've disabled those comments for awhile. If you want to comment, log in - it only takes a minute.
